PREPARATION FOR SALE - FASHIONS & ACCESSORIES


When submitting details including a description and photographs the Seller is requesting BTS to sell the relevant Item on the Seller's behalf.  In marketing and/or selling any Item BTS is acting solely in its capacity as the Seller's agent.  BTS shall have the sole and exclusive right to act as the Seller's agent to sell the Item during the term of the Sales Cycle.  The Seller undertakes not to sell the Item directly or indirectly during the term of the Sales Cycle.  


BTS will contact the Seller by email to confirm the Items for sale and the selling price.  The Price is an estimated maximum selling price, which is determined by factors to include, the original retail price of the Item, its provenance, age, style and condition of the Item detailed. 


BTS will then lodge the photographs to accurately display the Items.  Photographs will show the item from the front, side, back as well as on a flat white or neutral background.  Photographs provided by the Seller must be in normal mode NOT THUMBNAIL. BTS will register each Item on its website and websites deemed appropriate to achieve optimum World-Wide exposure to get the best price possible in the shortest time period for you.


JEWELLERY ITEMS


When submitting details including a description and photographs the Seller is requesting BTS to sell the relevant Item on the Seller's behalf.  In marketing and/or selling any Item BTS is acting solely in its capacity as the Seller's agent.  BTS shall have the sole and exclusive right to act as the Seller's agent to sell the Item during the term of the Sales Cycle.  The Seller undertakes not to sell the Item directly or indirectly during the term of the Sales Cycle.


BTS will contact the Seller by email to confirm the Items for sale and the selling price of each Item.  The Price is an estimated selling price, which is determined by factors to include, the original retail price of the Item, its provenance, age, style and condition of the Item as well as the current demand for such Item(s).  The Seller will set the selling price of the Item. 


BTS will then lodge the detailed photographs to accurately display the Items on all Platforms it deems appropriate to expose the Item to an audiance of more than 100 Million Registered On-Line Shoppers.  Photographs will show the item in the best possible setting. Photographs provided by the Seller must be in normal mode NOT THUMBNAIL. Should Seller provided photographs fall short of BTS's requuirements BTS will reject said photographs. BTS will register each Item on its website and other websites deemed appropriate to achieve optimum World-Wide exposure to get the best price possible in the shortest time period.



BTS'S CONCIERGE SERVICE


Sellers have the option of using BTS's Concierge Service. The Concierge Service does everything including visiting the Seller to make a complete review of all Items that the Seller may wish to list. When Items are selected a price is agreed and all required photographs are taken by BTS.  BTS generates the description and lists the Items World-Wide.  


BTS charges a fee for its Concierge Service and this is discussed and agreed at the time.  



SELLING OF ITEMS


It is the Seller's responsibility to ensure - when away - the Seller will continue to receive BTS’s emails so that any questions that may arise can be answered without delay.


When an Item is sold it is the Seller's responsibility to ensure that the Item is clean and securely packaged so that it reaches BTS in a state that is ready for delivery to the Buyer.  BTS has an obligation to dispatch the Item to the Buyer within 24/48 hours.  The Seller agrees to uphold this Policy by delivering the sold Item to BTS promptly.  Once a Buyer has paid the Price for the Item, BTS will notify the Seller and immediately upon receipt of the Item from the Seller shall release the Item to the Buyer.  


Regarding all Jewellery Items, BTS will notify the Seller of all Sold Items and provide the Seller with the name and address of the Buyer.  It is the Seller's responsibility to dispatch the Item to the Buyer without delay and to track its 'signed for' delivery to the Buyer. At the same time the Seller must provide the Tracking details to BTS. As soon as the Item is received by the Buyer BTS will remit to the Seller the net sum after all Platform fees and BTS's commission are deducted.  In this respect, BTS lists the Item(s) on various World-Wide Platforms to achieve exposure to over 100 Million Registered On-Line Shoppers.  This is what enables BTS to rapidly turnover such Items.  These Platforms charge BTS fees to list the Item.  Typically these fees are a percentage of the selling price although some Platforms also charge fixed monthly fees.  The Platform then remits the proceeds to BTS.  BTS charges its commission on the net sum received and the Seller receives the remainder.  


Should BTS sell the Item and then discover that such Item cannot be delivered for whatever reason, BTS will have no recourse other than to cancel the sale and refund the Buyer. If and when this arises the Seller will be charged a fee of 17.5% of the listed selling price. BTS will then either cancel the listing or continue to re-list the Item as a new listing at the Seller's option.  


BTS will send to the Seller, 5 working days after the Item has been received by the Buyer, a transaction statement in respect of that Item.  The transaction statement will account for BTS’s commission.  The commission fee due plus VAT will be deducted from net funds received from the sale and the remainder will simultaneously be transferred to the Seller’s Bank account. 


BTS shall market the Item for a Primary Sales Cycle of 12 weeks from the agreed Start Date.  Should the Item still remain unsold at the end of the Primary Sales Cycle BTS at its discretion will reduce the price by up to 30% and offer it for a further Secondary Sales Cycle of 12 weeks.  If the Item is still unsold at the end of the Secondary Sales Cycle BTS may then de-list the Item.



CANCELLATION OF A LISTING


The Seller may request BTS to cancel the listing and cease marketing an Item at any time before BTS has accepted an offer from a Buyer. However, if the Seller requests BTS to cancel the listing or cease marketing an Item during thePrimary or Secondary Sales Cycle, BTS will charge the Seller an administration fee of 17.5% of the listed price.  


Selling commission fees charged are 33.3% of net funds received from the sale of the Item.

Sellers may ask BTS to donate a portion or all of the sales proceeds to a Charity.  In this respect BTS supports Cancer Research UK.



ITEMS PURCHASED BY BTS FROM THE SELLER


The purchase price will be agreed via BTS's Concierge Service.  Payment will be made into the Seller's Bank Account within 48 hours.  BTS's willingness to purchase the Item will depend on a number of factors including the original purchase price, provenance of the Item and its condition, size and labels.

PAYMENT


BTS uses the STRIPE Payment Platform. Stripe is the best software platform for running an internet business. STRIPE handles billions of dollars every year for forward-thinking businesses around the world. Stripe takes security seriously. Stripe's ‘killer’ feature, the credit card data entered onto the payment form is NEVER sent to BTS's server. Instead, the data is sent directly to Stripe. Why is this so important? Automatically PCI compliant because BTS does not handle any sensitive credit card data on its servers.  This encourages good security. 



AUTHENTICITY


All items on the BTS website are guaranteed to be 100% authentic.  BTS does not sell reproductions.  BTS’s thoroughly inspects each item for authenticity and only authentic items will be found on BTS’s website.  If you have any questions regarding an item, please call the BTS Help Line or send BTS an email message prior to purchase.

VINTAGE ITEMS


Vintage Items will have reasonably expected wear and signs of age.  Vintage items are collectible and something that should increase in value as time goes by.  When you wear a vintage garment, you will most likely be the only person in the room wearing it!    

  


DELIVERY CHARGES


Delivery charges may sometimes be high.  The Item may be fragile/heavy/bulky or otherwise require special packaging/handling as well as insurance against damage or loss in transit, thus incurring extra charges.  


 

LAYAWAY PLANS


BTS does offer  Layaway Plans. BTS has 30 and 60 day Layaway Plans.  Both require a one-third deposit. 

For the 30 day Layaway, the balance is due on day 30. For the 60 day Layaway, the Buyer pays 33.3% on day 30 and the balance on day 60. If a Buyer requests a longer Layaway, it will be permitted (within reason) but subject to a surcharge to be set at the time the extended Layaway is requested.  Any Layaway can be completed early by paying the full balance.  BTS will then ship the item to the Buyer immediately.  The Layaway period begins on the date that an item is placed on hold which is the day the one-third deposit is received. After a Layaway has begun, occasionally things happen and BTS may be asked to extend a Layaway.  If BTS agrees to extend the ongoing Layaway, there will be an administrative charge computed on the total price of the item. This charge must be paid immediately and is non-refundable.  If a Layaway is cancelled, BTS will retain all funds paid towards it.

RETURNS 


Returns are ONLY accepted if the Item is not as the photograph(s) indicate or as otherwise fully described.  

Items are considered incorrectly listed within the bounds of good sense (i.e. if the presence of three marks is mentioned in the listing and there turns out to be a minor fourth, return will not be permitted). If a return is requested for any other reason, BTS may accept such return in its sole and unfettered discretion. If BTS accepts such a return, then it reserves the right to charge a re-stocking fee of £50 or 20% of the Item’s selling price - whichever is higher, plus the original delivery charges. 


 

DAMAGE IN TRANSIT


All Items are insured and tracked by BTS during the delivery process.  As a result if any 'damage in transit' arises this must be brought to BTS's attention within 5 calendar days of receipt (including the day of receipt) or damage claims will not be accepted by the insurance provider.  When a damage claim is made, BTS will give a refund of a pro-rata portion of the purchase price if part of the order was damaged - excluding the delivery charge.  If the entire Item was damaged then a full refund of the cost of the Item will be given, excluding delivery charges, upon receipt of the photographic evidence.  It is paramount that any ‘damaged in transit’ Items be photographed from all angles to show the damage including photographs of the packaging.  All such photographs must be forwarded to BTS within 5 calendar days of receipt of the Item and must be in normal photographic mode - NOT THUMBNAIL.  If this condition is not met the claim may not be honoured and no refund given.
